As a vehicle travelling westbound on Marine Drive was slowing down for a 4-way stop sign at Royal Oak, a cigarette butt was discarded from the driver side of vehicle. The butt was still lit as smoke could be seen coming from discarded butt.
This vehicle was driving east just ahead of us when garbage was thrown out the passenger side. Approx. 1km later more litter was thrown out of the drivers side. We were able to note the plate number and a bit later did pass the vehicle. The driver was a young woman; there were others in the car as well.
driver turned left off 264th onto 52nd Avenue (heading east). at approximately 9:30 pm discarded his cigarette onto the road.. with the risk of fire these days this is unacceptable . especially when you are driving a company vehicle
Sitting in Shoppers Drug Mart Parking lot, car parks and passenger opens back seat door and begins grabbing various items of garbage and throwing it out into the parking lot. Driver of the vehicle says "you can't do that in Alberta" passenger proceeds to say "who is going to tell on me" and leaves the pile of garbage in the parking lot.
Actually happened July 25th, but this site put the next day.
Waiting in a construction zone, this guy threw his light cigarette out of his window onto the street with visible brush and a steep hill on our right. The whole okanagan (and province) has been deemed a severe fire hazard. Enough said.
