Heading Southbound on Pat Bay, stopped at red light at Mt. Newton - saw young blonde woman holding cigarette outside window, flicking ashes onto road; I noted her license plate number, car make & model, suspecting she might drop butt onto road. When light turned green she dropped still lit cigarette butt, just as I thought. I ran over the butt to ensure it was out. Further south, she lit another cigarette and dropped it on the road too. Amazingly clueless - do these smokers not realize how dangerous this is and even if the fire hazard wasn't extreme, they are still littering. Hope the fines get increased substantially whether they start a fire or not.
